This publication examines Costa Rica’s response to the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in the travel and tourism sector, within the broader context of human trafficking in the country. It maps institutional and organizational efforts - particularly in the area of prevention - carried out between November 2015 and March 2016. The study provides an overview of how different systems interact to address trafficking and identifies key gaps in the resulting national response. This resource can support anti-trafficking practitioners seeking deeper insight into child exploitation linked to tourism and the effectiveness of existing prevention strategies in Costa Rica.
