En el presente informe se analizarán los resultados del proyecto Mapeo Geográfico y Social de la Trata de Personas Menores de Edad con fines de Explotación sexual Comercial 2006, que se desarrolló en el marco del Proyecto “Trata y Tráfico de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes: Mapeo Geográfico y Social en Centro América y México “, ejecutado por la Fundación PANIAMOR por encargo de Save the Children Suecia, en lo que refiere a Costa Rica. El Objetivo General del Proyecto es “Contar con un instrumento visual (mapas) que contribuya a promover mecanismos de protección para la niñez víctima del tráfico y la trata en Centro América y México”. Así el objetivo específico de esta fase es “Contribuir al logro del Objetivo General anteriormente apuntado, fortaleciendo y complementando la información que ya fue recabada para Costa Rica, consultando, en esta oportunidad, a personas ligadas con la industria turística y organizaciones de la sociedad civil”.

This report will analyze the results of the project “Geographic and Social Mapping of Trafficking in Minors for Commercial Sexual Exploitation 2006”, which was developed within the framework of the Project “Trafficking and Smuggling of Children and Adolescents: Geographic and Social Mapping in Central America and Mexico”, executed by the PANIAMOR Foundation on behalf of Save the Children Sweden, with respect to Costa Rica. The General Objective of the Project is “To have a visual tool (maps) that contributes to promote protection mechanisms for child victims of trafficking and smuggling in Central America and Mexico”. The specific objective of this phase is “To contribute to the achievement of the above mentioned General Objective, strengthening and complementing the information already collected for Costa Rica, consulting, in this opportunity, people linked to the tourism industry and civil society organizations”.
